I just did a guest blog post for Everything PR that talks about my sales experience at Sears and how I learned how to sell washing machines. I also go through 7 examples of companies (EverNote, Sharpie, Ginzametrics, Odwalla, Bose, and others) that do an amazing job telling customers what they want. Check out the post here.
I really liked the examples. Thanks
You are welcome. I’m glad the point came across.
LOL “I would then repeat their answer of how frustrated they were in their current situation.”
That is hardcore. They are buying a freaking washing machine! Not getting a divorce.
haha I was pretty hardcore about it.
The high end washing machines gave 8% commission while the low end ones gave out 1% commission. I’d rather lose the sale than take the 1% commission and I honestly believed they would be miserable with the low end product.
Love it! I think a lot of companies muddle their message w a bad sales pitch when they really need to just meet their customers needs
Thanks Jenni!
Great edition! Very visual and rich with a ton of short examples. Quite valuable.
One edit…add an “e” to make PLANe when talking about BOSE.
thanks man! I will try to fix that typo. Good call.
Love it! Especially the cartoon at the end…
